...Aimed at those out there, in any industry, with sucky packaging. Doesn't matter if it's food, cleaning products...or socks...if your packaging sucks, you may see it listed here for all to see. It’s not a fact-finding mission to make the world a better place. It’s not about the solution. It’s about the problem. (And poking it with a stick to see if it squirms.)

Sure Don't Feel Like Love
"Paul Simon Sure Don't Feel Like Love lyrics"
I registered to vote today
Felt like a fool
Had to do it anyway
Down at the high school
Thing about the second line
You know, felt like a fool?
People say it all the time
Even when it's true
So, who's that conscience sticking on the sole of my shoe?
Who's that conscience sticking on the sole of my shoe?
Cause it sure don't feel like love
A tear drop consists of electrolytes and salt
The chemistry of crying is not concerned with blame or fault
So, who's that conscience sticking on the sole of my shoe?
Who's that conscience sticking on the sole of my shoe?
Cause it sure don't feel like love
How does it feel?
Feels like a threat
A voice in your head that you'd rather forget
No joke, no joke
You get sick from that unspoken
Sure don't feel like love
No joke, no joke
Some chicken and a corn muffin well that feels more like love
Yay! Boo!
Yay! Boo!
Wrong again, wrong again
Maybe I'm wrong again
Wrong again
Maybe I'm wrong again
Wrong again
I could be wrong again
I remember once in August 1993
I was wrong, and I could be wrong again
I remember one of my best friends turned enemy
So, I was wrong, and I could be wrong again
I remember once in a load-out, down in Birmingham
Yeah, but that didn't feel like love
Sure don't feel like, sure don't feel like, sure don't feel like love
Sure don't feel like, sure don't feel like, sure don't feel like love
It sure.
Don't feel
Like love

Word on the street has it that if you order from Newbury Comics, you can get a limited edition copy annointed and scribbled upon by the band's very own hooves.

and people wonder why I'm a bitter bastard.
It seems like an entire block of time has slid past me without the luxury of time to digest things. It must be what it's like to eat at White Castle where it goes in one end and practically makes a beeline out the escape hatch without a lot of time to ricochet off the innards and such. Having never eaten at the place, I am theorizing at best. Things have been a blur, things have been a bitch, things have been.
Like most folks, there have been a boatload of work-related stressors slamming down all hydraulic press-like upon my chipper nature. While working on the schedule for the fall semester, I found myself with seven classes and only five classrooms in which to put them. I described it as "trying to pour Texas into Rhode Island without the help of a cocktail napkin." This situation is just Thursday. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday weren't much better. After shoe-horning things into a geographic location, then it's the always fun activity of seeing just how short-handed I am and will the folks that I have be pissed off for some reason or another. They say that you can't make everyone happy and apparently I am the first one on the agenda to make unhappy. I certainly seem to have succeeded.
The room thing fell into place once the powers that be whittled things down to a tolerable level. Why they had to wait so close for the starting gun to do so is anyone's guess. I guess it adds to the drama and makes for ass-clenching excitement. The ass will relax about the year 2058.
Otherwise, it's been the sampler platter of the good and the bad that basically makes up this thing known as life. I actually found myself feeling sort of happy in the insane blender of early August and when things don't seem completely fucked, I just feel confused. It's not a matter of really enjoying it, but just waiting for the hammer to fall. It's not a matter of if, but a matter of when. It always falls eventually.
A dog easing out of the world as we know it seemed to lapped completely by a cat. Searching high and low for the 36 hour MIA feline made me realize that it was probably the worst. Even an ignorant punk like me knows that cats tend to go away before they die. A hole was dug in the oppressive August heat only to find the cat underneath a couch looking back at me as if to say "Reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated." The hole was filled in only to be opened back up again for a dog a week later. I'm not sure if grave recycling is wrong, but it sure felt really odd.
Other than that, I really don't know what in the blue hell is going on or has gone on. All I know is that I am bone fucking tired and that I finally understand why so many folks love the Who. They've been my musical obsession for several weeks and while I have been a casual fan for 20+ years, I can now say that they kick/kicked ass, especially Keith Moon. In a year that has included my attending shows by some of my absolute favorites (Tom Waits, Ace Frehley, etc.), now I am facing the very real possibility that I will likely miss two of the top five (Motorhead and Henry Rollins x 2) due to the joys of labor. I guess that's the price we pay for growing old. The price is high and the pay is low. It doesn't really seem fair and that definitely means that it is indeed life, all dry and crusty.
And before I sign off, I will add that I am just about tired of all this Olympic bullshit. My lack of interest has almost surpassed the levels of who gives a fuck that I have for American Idol.

Back from the Mac
1. Bloggy Jr. in front of a beautiful church on the way back to the Big O. We took several photos that show more of the church of course, but who would post those in place of this smiling dude? Not me.
2. Our view from the balcony of our room at the Grand Hotel. Bikes, bikes, bikes and more bikes. We ended up not getting on a bike at all due to all the tons and tons of folks downtown. TONS of people, bikes and horses. No way was I going to ride through that stuff.
3. Everyone knows that hotel safes were made for the safe keeping of your rubber band revolver.
4. The Bloggerific Trio in our room at the Grand Hotel dressed for dinner. No one is allowed in main areas of the hotel after 6pm unless properly dressed. No rules were found in print concerning tie pins and so Bloggy Jr. decided to take a chance and wore a Wiener Mobile pin on his tie. No one said a word. :)
5. Comfy sleeping at the Grand.
6. Hand-painted furniture at the Grand.
7. View of traffic in the street from our balcony. (No motorized vehicles, except for snow mobiles during winter.)
8. Pappaw had a horse, the boy had a froggy and I had a zebra at the Greenfield Village.
9. The Wiener Mobile at the Henry Ford Museum. Between the village and the museum we spent a full 5 hours. NOT enough time. We were exhausted and glad to leave, but honestly, it was a lot of fun and we could have gone back the next day for another 5 hours easily.
10. Bunk beds in our suite at this kickin' hotel we stayed in along the way. It was a sweet suite!
11. The train we rode at the Greenfield Village.
12. The Model T we rode at the Greenfield Village.
By the way, Mackinac produces tons and tons of fudge and we were informed "you HAVE to buy some fudge when you make it to the island". Normally I turn the opposite way from something I "HAVE" to do, but this is candy we're talking here folks. Main street is lined with tons of shops and there are several fudge shops to choose from. We had no clue which one to go to and passed up a couple of them but finally stopped at Joann's Fudge Shop. We decided to take our chances and man oh man did we choose well! Tasty! http://www.joannsfudge.com/

Who? Who!
Material has been rather thin lately and since I've got nothing truly resembling a thorn in the saddle at the moment, I will just say "Ladies and gentlemen, the Who..."
Baba O'Riley
This is was my introduction to the Who many, many years ago. I distinctly remember my cousin and I bugging the shit out of record shop personnel trying to find this song called "Teenage Wasteland." I ended up with the soundtrack to The Kids Are Alright and all was well. Years later, I acquired the magnificent Who's Next with the following track...
Behind Blue Eyes
My personal favorite song by the band.
"When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool
If I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
If I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat"
Pure genius.
Another kickin' tune without snazzy video content.

Tra-tra-tra Trippy
It's that time, folks. It's trip time as three Bloggerifics navigate northward (I started to put "ho" in there, to sound all nautical/pirate-like, but decided it'd be more naughty than intended). So I leave you with the top, unedited in any way, cell image from today. I have no idea why it has that odd cast of color, but there you go.
I also leave you with the bottom photo that was edited, and I know exactly why it has that odd cast of color. Because I made it so.
Peace out. Don't take any wooden nickels. See you in the funnies. See you later, alligator. After while, crocodile. Catch you on the rebound. My man, Jackie Chan. (No, that last one doesn't really belong, but do any of us really belong?)

Now, WHERE did I put that dinner jacket? Ah yes, here it is, JCPenney's finest.
*walks off mumbling something about Owensboro Kentucky being one of the nation's leading chain restaurant cities*
